The Estate Manager is responsible for the overall management, planning, and supervision of farm estate operations to ensure efficient agricultural production, profitability, sustainability, and compliance with company policies and agricultural regulations. The role includes managing farm personnel, equipment, budgets, crop and/or livestock production, and estate maintenance activities.
Plan, organize, and oversee daily farm operations.
Supervise crop cultivation, harvesting, irrigation, fertilization, and pest control activities.
Manage livestock operations where applicable.
Ensure proper utilization and maintenance of farm machinery and equipment.
Monitor farm productivity and implement improvements to increase efficiency and yield.
Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate farm workers and supervisors.
Prepare work schedules and allocate duties effectively.
Enforce workplace safety standards and disciplinary procedures.
Promote teamwork and maintain good employee relations.
Prepare and manage farm budgets and operational expenses.
Maintain accurate records of production, inventory, payroll, and equipment maintenance.
Monitor procurement and usage of farm inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, chemicals, and fuel.
Prepare operational reports for management.
Ensure proper maintenance of estate infrastructure including roads, buildings, irrigation systems, fences, and storage facilities.
Coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance activities.
Ensure compliance with agricultural regulations, environmental policies, and health & safety standards.
Implement sustainable farming practices and conservation measures.
Monitor quality standards and ensure adherence to best agricultural practices.
Assist in developing long-term farm strategies and expansion plans.
Analyze production data and recommend operational improvements.
Stay updated on modern farming techniques and technologies.
